​ABOUT THE CONCERT 

Yitzhak Yedid’s solo piano performances draw listeners into a cinematic world filled with textures, colours, and emotion. Deceptively simple, his music reaches deep, touching a place within each listener.

Rooted in his Jewish Sephardic heritage, Yedid blends ancient and newly created niggunim with original compositions, weaving haunting modal melodies through rich, sometimes surprising harmonic landscapes. Classical sensibilities, Judaeo-Sephardic sacred music, and Middle Eastern sounds are juxtaposed, creating a dreamlike sense of shifting emotional universes.

ABOUT YITZHAK YEDID

Yedid has been honored as the Azrieli Laureate for Jewish music and is the recipient of the Israel Prime Minister's Prize for Composers and the Landau Prize for Performing Arts.

 

Described as a "wonderful storyteller and a master pianist" by Barry Davis of DownBeat Magazine, Yedid's music has graced major festivals worldwide. He has released 14 internationally acclaimed albums.​​​
